Featured Exhibit
Remix: Interpretations of Paradise

For the 37th Christian Art Festival, Cross View presents Remix: Interpretations of Paradise, exploring artists’ interpretations of paradise throughout the centuries, including the work of contemporary artists. Visualizing “Paradise” in the broadest of terms, the exhibit begins “In the Beginning…” and includes the Garden of Eden, earthly glory, and culminates in heaven. Works range from realism to abstract, historic to contemporary. The exhibit displays an overall aura of the joy, peace and glory of abiding with God as depicted by artists throughout the centuries. The exhibit will be comprised of works on loan from the Hill Museum and Manuscript Library of St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN, and the Westminster Gallery of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis. It will also include works of award-winning artists from Cross View’s recent juried exhibits.

Anna Leigh Biedenbender: On Being A Christian Artist

Anna Leigh BiedenbenderOn opening day of the Christian Art Festival, Sunday, March 10, Cross View welcomes Anna Leigh Biedenbender during the Adult Education hour, 9:30-10:30 AM, in the Fellowship Hall. Anna Leigh will speak to exploring characteristics and techniques Christian artists can, and should, embrace and practice to maneuver in and navigate through the contemporary (art) world. Anna's presentation will speak to anyone with an interest in or love for fine arts.

Anna Leigh is a visual artist, classically trained soprano, and ministry coordinator based in the Twin Cities. Her multi-faceted, creative life involves painting in her studio in NE Minneapolis; singing with the Twin Cities’ Magnum Chorum, her church’s worship team, and, of course, in the studio as she paints; as well as working at Mount Olive, St. Paul in designing, implementing, and coordinating communications, worship, and music. She earned an MFA in visual art, with an emphasis in painting and drawing, from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design (MCAD, ’16), and now enjoys her busy but flexible schedule where any free time is dedicated to playing volleyball and softball, meeting with her Small Group, and watching copious amounts of Netflix.
