Be Still and Know, a Study of Rest and Refuge

Women’s Bible Study will be starting a new series Be Still and Know, a Study of Rest and Refuge, by Deb Burma, in January 2026.

The group meets on the first Monday of the month from 9:30 until 11:30 AM in room 218 at Cross View. This study will run from January through May and then start again from September through December. Wednesday Midweek Recharge Line-Up

Make sure to reserve Wednesday evenings to “Recharge” for the rest of the week! Recharge will resume January 4, 2026,  and continue through mid May.

Community Light School of Discipleship (CLSD) is a community Bible study that is offered free of charge to individuals and congregations to help them grow as disciples who make disciples.  Our goal is to equip God’s people with the best resources the church has to offer so that they might “go” and make disciples wherever God has planted them.

Our 2026 spring class will be "Answer Me This: Tough Questions for Christian Apologists" (an apologetics class) with Rev. Dr. Dean Nadasdy.

Where:

OnSite - with discussion groups at Cross View (small groups will meet in various rooms on campus).
Online - with lectures and media will be live-streamed via  https://crossviewedina.online.church (you will be able to submit questions to presenters via an online chat).
OnDemand- sessions will be archived and accessible for churches or individuals to use at their convenience.

Unwavering, No Compromise: The Book of Daniel

When temptation hits us—envy, greed, pride, and pretense—we have a choice to make. Will we choose to roll over and give in, or will we choose to take a stand? In this seven-week Bible study, which complements our Easter season series on Daniel, we will learn to be courageous, no matter what tempts us! Studies will cover everything from Daniel’s capture and exile to Babylon as a teenager, to his unforgettable night in the lion’s den, to one of his prayers that literally changed the course of world history! 

Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30am in the Sanctuary from April 12 - May. Taught by Pastor Reed.  Online available.
 

Help serve at Sleep in Heavenly Peace on Saturday, May 9 from 8:30-10:45am.

This is the second year we are supporting this effort to provide beds for kids, so no child in our community sleeps on the floor. There are jobs for ages 12 and older, and there is no cost to participate. Donations are accepted at their website, or you can write a check to CV and put SHP in the memo section. You can also purchase bed sets, sheets, etc. to be delivered on May 9.

Men’s Retreat and Work Day at Camp Omega - May 15 - 16, 2026
 

Cross View’s men of all ages are invited to a retreat and work day at Camp Omega from May 15-16. We’ll meet at Cross View on Friday, May 15 at 5:00 PM and carpool to Camp Omega. We’ll stop for dinner along the way and arrive at the camp around 7:00 PM. That evening we’ll have a time of fellowship and devotions.

On Saturday, we’ll join other volunteers to help the camp prepare for their upcoming summer program. We’ll wrap up the work day around 4:00pm and hope to have everyone home by 6:00pm that evening.

There is no cost to participate, and no specific skills are needed.

Basic LERT Training, Camp Omega, Waterville MN, May 16, 2026
 

In conjunction with the Camp Omega Work Day (same day/location as the Men’s Retreat at Camp Omega), a Basic LERT training will be held at Camp Omega the morning of Saturday, May 16 running from 9a to Noon in the Lower Beta Room. Basic LERT training’s goal is to prepare congregations and individuals to respond effectively in the event of a disaster and to understand how to serve as LERT volunteers. The LERT organizational and safety procedures will be presented, as well as ways congregations can deploy volunteers to local and more distant disaster sites.
 

Anyone interested is welcome to attend the training session. However, only LCMS members who are 14 years or older will receive a certificate of participation, volunteer ID card, and T-shirt after the training is complete. Your LERT trainers will distribute all the LERT materials during and after the class.  Cost is $20 per person (includes all materials and refreshments).  Pay by cash or check at the training.

Cross View Early Childhood Center has openings for School Age Care (SAC) “Summer Camp” this summer in our licensed school-age program. Program dates are June 8 through August 27, 2026, with a minimum enrollment of four weeks. 

The SAC program serves students in Kindergarten through 4th grade with three, four or five day care options. SAC students spend a lot of time outdoors and enjoy fun activities throughout the summer, including external field trips. 

If you are interested in enrolling your child, please email tania@crossview.net so we can send you a registration packet and additional program information. Also, feel free to share this information with others you know that are looking for summer care for their school-age children. We look forward to a fun and enriching summer with our school-age students!
 

Rainforest Falls Vacation Bible School (VBS)
 

An onsite VBS experience for children age 3 (potty trained) thru 5th grade, the week of June 15-19.  Join the experience through stations as we discover the nature of God and what it means to be rooted in relationship with God.  
 

With your registration, each child will receive a t-shirt, snacks and supplies for the week.   Note: If registering after May 24th, a t-shirt cannot be guaranteed.

Wrestling with God: Interpreting Difficult Old Testament Passages
 

The Old Testament is difficult to understand. How can the vengeful, angry God of the Old Testament be the same as the comforting, loving God of the New Testament?

How can these old narratives of death, revenge, and morally wrong choices guide you as a Christian? This study will guide you through the Old Testament to understand difficult and overlooked idea like violence in the book of Joshua, Israelite Sexual Laws, God’s Change of Mind as well as His Suffering. These and many more topics will be discussed and taught.
