High School Youth

Bible study, opportunities for growth and fellowship, monthly activities, retreats, and service opportunities give high school youth at Cross View the chance to connect with students and adults,  grow in faith and knowledge, and serve others.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

On Sunday mornings, high school youth meet from 9:30 to 10:30 for Bible Study, discussion, and fellowship. This Bible Study is open to any high school student (grades 9-12), and friends are always welcome to visit!

Sunday Night Youth Group

The senior high youth group meets on Sunday nights year-round in the youth room. These nights are less formal than Sunday mornings, and the focus of these meetings is to create unity and grow together as a youth group. These regular gatherings often involve activities such as meals,  service projects, viewing parties,  and trips to locations such as ski hills or Severs Corn Maze.

Conferences, Retreats, Gatherings

Senior high youth regularly attend conferences that connect Biblical truths to their daily lives. A three-year rotation gives youth the opportunity to attend a local mission trip, national mission trip, and a final trip to the national LCMS Youth Gathering (next held in New Orleans in 2025). The LCMS Youth Gathering is a five-day opportunity to gather with over 20,000 other high school students in celebration, learning, and service.

Junior High Youth

We recognize that parents are the primary influencers and instructors in the faith life of their youth. We feel honored to come alongside and work with parents and their teens in this journey of discipleship. Our goals in youth ministry are to equip and encourage parents for the task of faith shaping in the lives of their teen and to provide opportunities for youth to become more fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ along life’s journey.

Confirmation

Cross View’s confirmation ministry is a special, two-year course that prepares 7th and 8th graders for the rite of confirmation and for becoming members of the church.

Confirmation class meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  Pastor Steve Wheeler delivers heartfelt messages from Scripture, leads small group discussions, and supervises games and contests (and quizzes) designed to strengthen students’ appreciation for God’s Word and the rite of confirmation.  Parents join the class once a month and participate in small group discussions and contests with the students.

Seventh graders share their time and talents through service work in the community and present their work at the end of Year One of the class. 8th graders present personal testimonials about their walk with God before being confirmed in front of the congregation.

Confirmation is a rich experience for our students and is often cited as one of the most memorable and meaningful offerings at Cross View.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

On Sunday mornings, students meet from 9:30-10:30 AM to study God’s word and discover how it applies to their daily lives.

Fellowship Events

Our junior high youth group regularly attends a three-day day mission trip, and there are many weekend fellowship opportunities.
